I’m Sara Bannoura—a journalist, strategist, and social and justice advocate using media to expose power, shift narratives, and move people toward change.
Sara Bannoura is an Emmy and Edward R. Murrow Award–winning journalist and storyteller who uses media to expose injustice and spark systemic change. A graduate of Webster University, she mastered every part of journalism—writing, photography, video production, and design—earning state and national recognition before graduating.
At KMOV-TV (CBS St. Louis), she worked her way up through nearly every newsroom role to become a Senior Digital Producer. Along the way, she broke major stories, including Missouri’s first COVID-19 case, spotlighted immigrant communities, and produced the region’s first local-news fentanyl documentary.
Today, Sara leads independent storytelling and research projects focused on food justice, narrative power, and systems change. She partners with grassroots organizers, artists, and media professionals to challenge dominant narratives and uplift communities working to feed, heal, and transform the world.

I’m a strategist, researcher, and storyteller working at the intersection of food systems, justice, and narrative power.
I partner with organizations, grassroots coalitions, policymakers, and media-makers to move ideas into action—and to root every strategy in the lived realities of the people most impacted.
If you're working toward food and nutrition security, health equity, or systemic change, I can support your efforts through:
Food access, urban agriculture, and community resilience planning rooted in justice and local context.
Shift public perception, shape policy, and tell the whole story through framing, messaging, and movement-aligned media.
Workshops and custom sessions for journalists, nonprofit teams, students, and faith leaders working to deepen their storytelling and systems thinking.
From toolkits to campaigns, I help teams turn complexity into clarity—grounded in evidence, powered by story.
I bring rigor, care, and bold imagination to every collaboration—especially with mission-aligned teams who aren’t afraid to ask hard questions or build new worlds.
